Flash Mob Starts Again This Week

Written by Lindsay Chronister on . Posted in Blog

If you haven’t seen the video already, you should know that the Austin Swing Syndicate has quite a talent pool of swing dancers ready and willing to flash mob Austin! Our first flash mob at the Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane was quite a success! Check out the video!

We’d love to keep it up, which is why this Thursday, June 6th will be the start of our second flash mob session! If you didn’t participate in the first flash mob, don’t worry, you’re more than welcome to join in on the fun this time around.

Here’s how it’s going to work:

The flash mob practices will last for 8 consecutive Thursdays. Most people will need to attend 75% of practices in order to remember all of the moves. If you learn really fast or can practice in your free time, then you can just attend practice when you are able to. The main thing is to learn all of the choreography so we look unified when we perform.

Flash Mob practice will be at 8:45 PM on all Thursdays from June 6 – July 25 in the Art Gallery at the Fed. If you want to help choreograph (all are welcome), then these sessions will begin at 8:15 PM on the same Thursdays.

The Flash Mob group will decide when, where and how many times they perform during the meetings at 8:45 PM.

There is an Official Flash Mob Facebook Group that is used to keep you updated on extra practices, voting for song choices, and more! Join it today!
